Everyone has a story to tell. Many consider the possibility. Fewer advance beyond thoughts of ‘someday.’ Most have ideas that remain swirling, hidden, or simply reluctant to exposure. How can you change that? How can you take a dream to an idea to a published novel to a satisfied reader? Simply speaking, if you can write a sentence, you can write a paragraph. If you can write a paragraph, you can write a chapter. If you can write a chapter, you can write a novel. You get the picture. It’s that easy, as long as you are willing and have patience. It’s also worth it, because when you physically hold your idea and crack it open for the first time, the feeling…well, it’s pretty cool.
I hope this blog (www.davidlclick.com/blog) sparks ideas and gets you nodding with the thought…“yeah, I can do that!” Because you can! Check back now and then to read my thoughts on topics of developing and outlining your story; writing techniques I call seeding, combing, and weed-whacking; and the importance of researching, grounding, and editing. Read about the nuances of publishing, marketing, and promoting. Or, send your own questions or topics you would like me to address, and I’ll give you my thoughts. This should be fun, for me and for you.
Oh, and be gentle…it’s my first time blogging.
